Last week there were some rather disturbing stories about people being able to gain control of your iPhone by simply sms’ing you, if the sms you received only contained a square then you should immediately switch your iPhone off otherwise people could use your internet, make calls or send sms’s.

This flaw was revealed at the Black Hat Computer Security Conference in Las Vegas and the very next day Apple released a free software update eliminating the vulnerability. Apple also said that so far no one has been able to gain control of a person’s iPhone to gain access to personal information.

The next time you plug your iPhone into your computer you’ll be asked to download the software update
